I have had a very active few weeks, as I have been moving into my house in town and preparing the salon for our
reopening on April 12. The salon team were kept busy restocking, cleaning and disinfecting the whole salon to make everything perfect for when our clients finally returned. I can’t tell you how wonderful it has been to have people
back in the salon. We are run off our feet, but it’s worth it to see all our clients and friends again. This last lockdown has taken its toll on everyone and it is just fabulous to have some normality back in our lives.
Meanwhile, I have faced the challenge of moving from a big house into a small space – probably one of the most difficult things I have done in my life! I have furniture stored up and down the country! But now I’m settled in with all my most precious things around me, and I have been working on the garden, as it is there that I find the greatest comfort to my spirit and wellbeing.
I have also enjoyed taking part in online interviews, including one for a podcast on my life and career with Edward Hemmings at Alan d Hairdressing Education in London.
The other was a live demonstration of five looks in an hour for the HairUncut community. As a specialist in long hair, they asked me to share my experience with other industry professionals, and I decided to show five elegant looks that would take just 12 minutes each. I asked if donations could be made to the Hair & Beauty Benevolent, which helps hair and beauty professionals in times of need, and I was delighted that we raised more than £3,000.
